Abstract. In this chapter you will find out what the features of a good web site are in general. Because this course is oriented toward use in cultural institution, here you will find  special suggestions on how to make a good site for a cultural organization or a site with cultural content. 

This chapter will introduce you to the methods of maintaining, marketing your products online and teach you how to do this effectively. You will find out how to maintain cultural content in your site and how to make users come back to your web. Another important part of this course is marketing your product. Here we will talk about search engines and their meaning for Internet marketing; also, we will introduce you to other marketing methods, including banners, link exchange and reciprocal linking (the most important part of marketing online). 

The etiquette of  cyber space – netiquette is presented in this chapter as well. We also give you examples and comments on some  cultural web sites in Lithuania and the entire world. 

This chapter is available as a one-day (6-hour) training package for a seminar: the text with remarks for the trainer, references and a collection of  PowerPoint slides.
